The Lighthouse of Saints Theodore is located in the area of Lassi in Katavothres and 3 km from Argostoli. It is one of the most well known attractions of Kefalonia. It took its name from the small church of Saints Theodore which is located in the area. It has a Doric circular shape and is surrounded by 24 stone columns.
The lighthouse was built in the early 19th century when the island was under the command of Charles Napier. The Lighthouse of Saints Theodore was inaugurated in 1928 and joined the network of lighthouses in Greece in 1863. It was completely destroyed by the earthquakes of 1953 and reconstructed later, exactly as it was.
